Pentarch Forestry F17 and F27 seasoned hardwood timber is suitable for internal building applications and, for certain species, for external above-ground use where exposed to weather. The timber is visually graded in accordance with AS 2082 for structural purposes and is supplied in finished, dressed dimensions.
Kiln-dried hardwood offers superior dimensional stability over unseasoned hardwood, significantly reducing the risk of warping and splitting. Both F17 hardwood and F27 hardwood grades are available in mixed species, with single species supply subject to availability.
Pentarch Forestry hardwood timber products are Responsible Wood Chain of Custody certified, providing peace of mind that our products are sourced from sustainably managed and legal forestry.

Seasoned hardwood timber is kiln dried to remove excess moisture, giving it better dimensional stability than unseasoned timber. This makes seasoned hardwood timber less prone to warping and splitting, which is why it’s specified for structural bearers, joists, frames, trusses, lintels, beams and rafters where consistent performance matters.
F17 hardwood and F27 hardwood are structural grades assigned under AS 2082 based on strength and stiffness, with F27 rated for higher load applications than F17. Both grades come in similar sizing ranges and are supplied in finished, dressed dimensions, so the right choice depends on the structural demands of your specific build.
